President's Message - Fall 2017

Welcome to fall and the start of cooler weather!

Next Meeting: November 14th:
our next chapter meeting will be on Tuesday, November 14th at noon. We're trying something that we haven't done in awhile … a webinar! You can either log in from your own desk, or come to the 12th floor visitor's conference room at Symetra in Bellevue. Holly Dolan from Denton County will be giving a fresh take on "Records Ambassadors & Outreach." (See the program on the Home page or Event page for more details.) Please RSVP on our website by November 10th and we'll send you the webinar login instructions.

Chapter Schedule for the Year:
The schedule for our upcoming programs has now been posted on our Event page. Some of the programs are still in the works, and we'll keep everyone posted as more details are finalized!

AIEF Announcements:
I also wanted to pass on some news from AIEF, the ARMA International Education Foundation. Some of the great ways that AIEF gives back to ARMA members is through their scholarships and grants. In late September, AIEF announced that they would not be doing an annual silent auction any longer. In response to their request for donations, the BEC Board will be making a $100 donation.
AIEF has also put out a Call for Researchers for a new Foundation research project: Results of 'Big Bucket' Retention Practices (Working Title), and also two research reports on Personal Information PRotection (U.S. Federal & State Laws). Check them out on their website:
